Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital is a 200 bed, regional acute care inpatient facility of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH) which serves 13 counties of the upstate of South Carolina. The hospital provides intensive, short-term, psychiatric diagnostic and treatment services on a 24 hour, emergency voluntary and involuntary basis. The SCDMH mental health centers screen admissions and are actively involved in discharge planning.
Patrick B. Harris Hospital is a pleasant, well kept facility which opened in1985. Quality patient care is provided by experienced, licensed staff in a treatment team approach. Meeting patient and family needs are our top priority. The facility is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and by the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). Private pay, private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid benefits are accepted. Patients are served on the basis of need and not on the ability to pay.

The +Aim/Wellness Committee sponsored an Employee Craft Show Friday, May 1st in the gymnasium at HPH. Participating in the event were employees who had beautiful handmade crafts to display. Among one of the many items being shown was a dried gourd bowl with a frog cut out and hand painted. This was made by Angela Gray of Iva, SC who is a Pharmacy Tech at HPH.
