Staff Development is a multigenerational multidisciplinary career at HPH. The process of executing a vision for innovative professional development requires Staff Development to be proactive in providing "career satisfiers" that have the potential to result in improved healthcare utilizing evidence-based care provided which in turn, leads to enhanced patient outcomes. Leadership, vision, strategy, and commitment are vital for the promotion of professional development.
Staff Development at HPH has a commitment to lifelong learning, leadership and concern with the scholarly development of a multigenerational multidisciplinary workforce. While practicing in the clinical setting HPH Staff Development is a critical player in anticipating changes and expectations in order to design quality educational experiences to prepare a multigenerational multidisciplinary with various levels of ability to meet the challenges of an ever changing healthcare environment.
The mission of Staff Development is to promote a culture of safe and quality patient care by providing:
- An environment that promotes lifelong learning
- Current and innovative information that will enhance critical thinking and provide evidence for best practice
2011 Staff Development Objectives:
- To provide educational programming based on credentialing, accreditation, agency and individual staff needs
- To provide staff education relating to requirements and needs as delineated by Federal, State and hospital policies and accreditation standards
- To assist with online learning modules, teleconferences and satellite programs in order to make training more accessible and reduces the costs for the agency
- Accredited educational activities that assist licensed clinical staff in maintaining licensure/certification
- To build on the success of Learning through partnerships and career development
