Nutritional Services Director, Bob Bowers ran in 2007 in his very first 5K. Bowers, 46, finished 2nd for the Men's 45-49 division. The race, in Williamston, SC took place on Saturday, August 25 and had close to 160 participants. Bowers finished the race in under 30 minutes. "I decided to run in a race after seeing my son and daughter, Tate and Emily run in a 5K race on July 4th. They seemed to enjoy it so much, I thought they'd appreciate having their dad run with them too!", said Bowers. "Tate finished a little more than 5 minutes ahead of me and I get a trophy. I'm already looking forward to running with my daughter, Emily in a 5K race in October. It really has become an opportunity to invest time with my kids in something we all enjoy - competing. I didn't know that in the beginning, but I believe it's catching on.", said Bowers.
