Mission Statement
The Nursing Department of Patrick B. Harris Psychiatric Hospital is dedicated to maintaining quality nursing care in a safe and therapeutic environment. Nursing services include assessment, nursing diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of acute psychiatric disorders and co-occurring disorders and are part of a multi-discipline team approach. The provisions of nursing services assists our patients in the recovery process with the goal of obtaining each patient's maximum potential.

To develop a climate that will provide each individual the opportunity for maximum growth. To participate in programs that educate the public about mental health and illness.
Student Nurse Rotation
HPH Nursing Service is affiliated with three schools of Nursing, Clemson University, Tri County Technical College, Piedmont Technical College. Approximately 150 senior student nurses from these schools complete clinical rotation in nursing service at HPH yearly. HPH also provides clinical rotation for paramedic student from Greenville Technical College. Facility tours are provided to other nursing school groups throughout the year.

RN Weekend $5.00 per hr.
Shift $1.25 per hr.
LPN Weekend $3.00 per hr.
Shift $ .75 per hr.
MHS Weekend $1.00 per hr
Shift $ .20 per hr.
Nursing Role
Nursing service plays one of the most important roles at Harris Hospital by providing direct patient care twenty four hours a day. Nursing staff is exceptional in providing patient education including RN - LPN medication groups, diabetic teaching, sexually transmitted diseases groups, coping skills and etc. Mental Health Specialist conduct groups including music, current events, activities of daily living and etc.
