Mission

The mission of the Joint Commission is to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations

     The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill's South Carolina chapter honored Harris Hospital in October 2004 as Psychiatric Hospital of the Year.  The hospital award is special because the chapter only gives the award in years where a particular institution stands out, Executive Director David Almeida said.  "What we see with Patrick B. Harris Hospital and Director John Fletcher is a real willingness and understanding that families are a vital part of the treatment program."
